Tours, Tour Companies, Guides and Tour Guides of Cambridgeshire

Because Cambridgeshire is such a popular tourist location there are a number of tours to choose from. Firstly there are the traditional coach tours. These come in a variety of packages including trips to see the magnificent Ely cathedral, several stately homes including the one which belonged to Oliver Cromwell and the airfields and aircraft museum of Duxford. If you're looking for a tour with a little more freedom there are several guided walking tours of Cambridge. These take in several of the most popular Colleges, bridges, churches and other famous landmarks around the city centre. These walks can be customised to suit your preferences as to length and what you see and can even be directed along certain themes such as ghost tours and treasure hunts. These tours are all organised thorough the tourist board in association with the city council. Some of the best buildings in the city can be seen from the river so a great way to see them is to hire a punt boat for a few hours and cruise along at your own pace, or hire a piloted boat and let the professionals take you along the river and point out the various tourist attractions.

If you don't fancy an organised tour the city centre is easy enough to navigate on your own and Cambridge has an excellent public transport system. This allows you to visit some of the more out of town tourist attractions and Colleges such as Homerton College which has some beautiful buildings and grounds and has the added bonus of being free to view unlike many of the city centre colleges.
